Cheryl Sue (Starnes) Hutchinson Obituary

Cheryl Sue Hutchinson was born September 1, 1958, to Ray and Glenda Starnes in Elkhart Kansas. She passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her home in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.  Cheryl graduated from Salina Central High School in Salina, Kansas, and later attended Wichita State University and Las Lunas Community College. She was united in marriage to Shan Mapes, and the couple made their home in Newton Kansas, After Shan’s passing, Cheryl reunited with her high school classmate, Kerry Hutchinson. They were married on March 17, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and later made their homes in Chickasha and Verden before settling in Fort Cobb, where they have lived for the past several years.  Cheryl enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including painting, arts and crafts, home decorating, and many other creative projects. She will be remembered for her creativity, caring spirit, and the love she shared with those around her.


Survivors include her husband, Kerry Hutchinson of the home in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, brothers, Ray Starnes, Jr and his wife Dena, Darren Starnes and his wife Diane, her children, Jeremy Mapes and his wife Krista, Shae Mapes and his wife Crystal, Tionna Botterweck and her husband Derek, Sierra Horn and her husband Vince. Stepchildren Amy Woodard and her husband Brian, James Hutchinson and his wife Shauna.  Along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her father Raymond Starnes

 

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda Starnes.
