Cecil Edward Hicks Obituary

Cecil Edward Hicks was born on January 27, 1945 in Geary, OK to Julius and Nora Hoffman Hicks.  He passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his home in Geary, OK at the age of 79.


Cecil graduated from Geary High School and then served in the 2nd battalion, 16th infantry of the U.S. Army from March 1966-1967.  He married Libby Janet Stennett on May 1, 1970.  Cecil worked for the railroad for a short time and later began working at the brick plant in Union City, OK as a forklift operator at Firestone in Oklahoma City for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf, softball and quail hunting.


Cecil is survived by his three siblings, Inez Brack and Raymond Hicks, both of Geary, OK and Jerlene Marchant of Oklahoma City, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Nora Hicks; siblings, Oliver, Arlie, Charles, Albert, Sonny, Wesley, Robert and Ammon Hicks, Faye Sheffield, Maggie Hicks, Christine King and Lida Brack.


Celebration of Life:  Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Brown Center in Geary.  This will be a casual gathering with dinner served; you are welcome to bring a dish if you’d like.  Food and drinks may be dropped off at the Brown Center on Saturday morning.
