Carolyn Sue Stewart Obituary

Carolyn Sue Stewart was born on September 12, 1940, to Ralph Wesley and Ethel Mae (Hutcheson) Hendricks. Carolyn graduated from East Walnut School and lived in the Scott Community. She married Carson Stewart on October 4, 1958, at a preachers home in Anadarko, OK. They moved to Oklahoma City after they married, then to Binger in 1968. Carolyn helped Ralph on the farm, drove a school bus for Binger Schools, worked at Bob Bowling Chevrolet for 3 years, owned and operated a gas station until 1978, and built Stewart’s Grocery in 1983 operating it until 1999. Carolyn loved going to her kids and grandkids ball games, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and was a member of Binger Baptist Church. She and Carson were class parents for Renea and Ricky’s classes.


Survivors Include: her husband, Carson Stewart of Binger, OK, her children, Renea Gathers and fiancé Mike Miles of Park City, KS, Ricky Stewart and wife Kathy of Binger, OK, and Rhenda Gills and husband Joe of Binger, OK, her grandchildren, Ron Gathers of Wichita, KS, Justin Gathers and fiancé Traci of Valley Center, KS, Eric Gathers of Wichita, KS, Blake Fisher of  Eureka, KS, Kayla Stewart Whitehorn and husband Paul of Binger, OK, Rylon Stewart and wife Hayley of Tuttle, OK, Kadree Stewart of Binger, OK, Baillie Gills and fiancé Allen Owens of Binger, OK, and Shaillie Gills of Binger, OK, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ethel Hendricks, her sister, Charlene and brother-in-law Howard Hedrick, and son-in-law, Ed Gathers.


Services: Binger Baptist Church, Wednesday, 10:00 am, May 10, 2023, Binger, OK


Officiating: Rev. Dennis King
