Carolyn (Price) Chatigny Obituary
Carolyn I. (Price) Chatigny was born on January 9, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Grover William and Dorothy Imogene (Coddington) Price. She passed away on July 24, 2025 in Binger, OK at the age of 74. Carolyn grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Central High School where she was active in the school band, playing the clarinet, and was honored as Homecoming Queen in 1966. She moved with her family to the Oney, OK area as a senior and graduated from Oney High School in 1969. One evening while he was on a short medical leave from a deployment in the US Marine Corps, she met Bob Chatigny at Holly’s Drive-In in OKC. He made good on his promise to call once he was back from his wartime service and called Carolyn early that next year. On August 28, 1970, the couple was married in Oklahoma City. Throughout her life, Carolyn worked in various roles, beginning with St. Anthony Hospital during her high school years. She worked as a dietary aide there and continued in that position until the couple moved to Weatherford. Carolyn worked for four years as a dietary supervisor at Clinton Regional Hospital while Bob attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and until he began working at 3M. They welcomed their two daughters, Carissa and Miranda, and Carolyn became a stay-at-home mom from 1977 to 1990. Upon re-entering the workforce, she worked at the Weatherford Tag Agency and later as a dietary manager at East Elementary in Weatherford until her retirement in 2008. Carolyn took karate for four years with her daughter, Carissa, earning a red belt. She enjoyed going to the lake and boating with her family while her girls were young. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and being Granny to her grandchildren. She was known for her friendly, caring, and loving nature as a wife, mom and grandma. Carolyn was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and found great joy in her faith and community.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home in Weatherford; daughters Carissa Dobrinski and her husband Joseph of Rapelje, Montana, and Miranda Manning of Tuttle, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Elijah Dobrinski, Isaac Dobrinski, Emma Manning and Asher Manning; and one sister, Debbie Kerlick and her husband Wesley of Binger, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Dorothy Price and two brothers, David and Darrell Price.
