Bryan Souther Obituary

Nathan Bryan Souther was born December 3, 1954, in Watonga, Oklahoma, to Wesley Stephen “Steve” and Lona L. (Wigington) Souther. He passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Watonga, Oklahoma, at the age of 70.  Bryan graduated from Greenfield High School and lived in the Greenfield and Watonga area his entire life. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting, searching for arrowheads, and gathering wild mushrooms. Bryan was a skilled woodworker, creating beautiful benches adorned with willow limbs in a decorative style. A true jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.  Bryan was a proud member of Greenfield and Watonga Masonic Lodges and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a devoted member of the Greenfield Baptist Church.  Though Bryan faced lifelong health challenges stemming from a childhood accident, he lived life with a loving and caring heart. He treasured his family and friends, especially his nephews, great-nephews, and great-niece. He loved to tell stories—so well, in fact, you never knew whether they were truth or fiction. Bryan had a special bond with animals, particularly his beloved cat, Mabel.  The family extends special thanks to the nurses at Watonga Hospital: Amanda, Miranda, and Deena, for their compassionate care.

Bryan is survived by his brother Craig Souther and wife Tracy of Edmond; two nephews, Steven Souther of Yukon and Tyler Souther and wife Jaden of Edmond; great-nephews Dillon Souther of Yukon and Luke Souther of Edmond; and great-niece Addie Souther of Edmond. He is also survived by cousins Diane and Wayne Johnson of Watonga, and his lifelong best friend Tony Lucero of Longdale, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Lona Souther, and his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, 1000 North Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
