Billy Eugene Buchanan was born on April 17, 1954 in Clovis, NM to Neborn Eugene and Wanda (Temple) Buchanan. Billy passed away on July 22, 2024 at his home in Geary, OK at the age of 70. Billy grew up in El Reno, OK. He married Diane Brack on August 20, 1982 in Geary, OK where they lived and raised their family. Family was everything to Billy and he enjoyed taking care of everyone, often doing things for others instead of himself. Billy especially loved being with his grandkids and was very involved with them. Everything he did, he committed himself to 100 percent, he was all in. When he decided to learn how to play the saxophone, he bought one, learned how to play then found something else to interest him, with the exception being hunting since he did not enjoy that. He loved to ride motorcycles, enjoyed taking care of everything he owned from repairs to restoration. He was an amazing artist but was never satisfied with his work, frequently making adjustments or touch ups. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

Billy is survived by his wife, Diane Buchanan of Geary, OK, his children, Stephanie Laver and husband Shawn of Redfield, KS, Shelly Buchanan of Hominy, OK, Brandon Buchanan of Greenfield, OK, and Toni Cain and husband John of Geary, OK, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his siblings, Tony Buchanan and wife Helen of El Reno, OK, Tammie Brack and husband Larry of Hinton, OK, Susan Stiner of Moore, OK, and Anita Jolliff of Geary, OK, as well as other relatives and friends. 

Billy was preceeded in death by his parents, Neborn and Wanda Buchanan, his son, Steven Nelms, his brother, Allen Buchanan, and his granddaughter, Cheyenne Fiegener

Geary Turner Funeral Home will be open Friday, 9 AM- 9 PM for the public to view his paintings and sign his book.
