Bill Mencke was born October 26, 1944, to Harry and Eleanor (Fulton) Mencke in Fresno, California. He passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. Bill attended Classen High School and later attended Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Karen Robertson on November 4, 1967, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They made their home in southwest Oklahoma City, where they shared many years together. Bill worked for Acme Brick Company and later became a skilled trim carpenter. He went on to work as a home builder for many years, retiring in 2011. Even after retirement, Bill continued to stay busy doing various odd jobs for others. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering in the garage, and working with his hands. One of his proud accomplishments was building an exact replica of his grandmother’s house using sticks. Bill was a longtime member of the Business Leaders Club and was of the Methodist faith. Above all, he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Mencke of Oklahoma City; one sister, Marsha Poulter and her husband, Ed, of Lake Texoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Eleanor Mencke.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Hinton Cemetery in Hinton, Oklahoma. services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Oklahoma.
