Betty Lou Ann Raines was born on February 24, 1934 in Lillian, TX to Earl and Lenie (Uselton) Taylor. She passed away on April 22, 2020 in Binger, OK at the age of 86. She married Horace Raines on October 17, 1956 in Anadarko, OK. At age 22, Betty inherited 4 children ages 3,5,7,7 and 12 months later she had a baby. She counted her biggest accomplishments in raising her 7 kids, and never had to go to the jail or the school. She worked at Mayfield’s Five & Dime, NU Gas Station in Binger from 1972 thru 1977, and owned and operated Little Okie Café in Hinton, OK. She drove the school bus in Hinton and Lookeba while working at Mills Café. While raising kids, she hauled hay and helped on the farm and in the fields. Betty played on a women’s softball league, enjoyed church, family, music, rodeo, fishing, ball games, and was Bingo Queen at Binger Nursing Home. She was a member of Longview Church in Binger.
Survivors Include: her children, Jean Raines and Jan of Anadarko, OK, Dean Raines and Jeanetta of Anadarko, OK, Carol Harman and Bruce of Yukon, OK, Kay Mashaney of Binger, OK, Jimmy Earl Raines and LaDonna
Of Binger, and Martin Shell Raines and his wife Mendy of Kingfisher; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Doyle Taylor of Alvarado, TX; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Horace Raines, daughter, Rose Ann Walton, brothers, Buddy, Virgil, and Tommie Taylor, and one sister Mary Jo Higgins.
