Betty Gail (Green) Fulton Obituary
Betty Gail (Green) Fulton, 96, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, at Infinite Care Home while under the care of Integris Hospice in Edmond. She was born on May 27, 1928, in Monett, Missouri, being the first baby born in the new West Hospital, to Douglas W. and Bess (Carney) Green, and lived in Marionville, Missouri, until age 9. Her family then moved to Buffalo, Oklahoma, for three years and then finally made their home in Hinton, Oklahoma. Betty graduated from Hinton High School and later graduated from Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, OK. She spent her life dedicated to her family and community. She married Donald Frank Fulton on November 25, 1951, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, and service. Betty and Don lived in Britton, OK and in West Oklahoma City for 40 years. Early in their marriage, Betty worked for Home Mortgage Company, then spent 14 years at home as a full-time mother and homemaker. Betty returned to the workforce as a bookkeeper for NW Christian Childcare Center and worked there for many years. After retiring, Don and Betty moved to their family farm West of Hinton. She was an active and dedicated member of Northwest Christian Church in Oklahoma City, where she taught children's Sunday School for many years, and was active in other church groups as well as serving as a deaconness. When they moved to Hinton, they joined the First United Methodist Church and became active with that church community. While they lived in the Hinton area, she was also a member of The Quest Club and enjoyed gardening, baking, journaling, and playing dominoes. Betty believed strongly in early childhood education and during her life volunteered with several children programs, including being a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Don and Betty later moved back to Edmond. They became members of the New Covenant Methodist Church in Edmond, and greatly enjoyed their time spent with that congregation.
She is survived by her three children: Nancy Fulton Walker of Edmond; Bill Fulton and wife Sharon of Edmond; and Donnie Fulton and wife Donna of Edmond. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth Walker Black of Boston, MA; Kathryn Fulton of Springdale, AR; Kristen Rivera of Los Angeles, CA; Andrew Rivera and Caitlin Goad of Edmond, OK; along with her great-grandchildren, Harper and Greyson Rivera of Edmond; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Brooks of Hinton, OK, and Ruth Ann Green of Panama City, FL; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Don Fulton, her brothers David and Jack Green, and her son-in-law Robert Walker.
