Becky (Rebecca Sue) Beatty was born July 14, 1940 to Herbert and Edith (Horton) Greenhaw in
Oklahoma City, OK. She passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at her home west of Hinton at the age
of 81. Becky grew up in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from Taft High School. She married Larry
Allen Beatty in June of 1956. Upon Larry’s enlistment in the US Air Force the couple moved to California.
They lived there for a short time before Larry was sent to Okinawa, Japan and Becky moved to
Oklahoma where their first son, Larry Dale, was born. The young family was reunited in Roswell, NM
where Larry served until his discharge and they moved back to Oklahoma City once again. The couple
welcomed their daughter, Toni Sue, and soon thereafter their twin sons, Darren and David. Becky and
Larry both worked for Western Electric for a time before Becky went back to school for LPN training.
She worked for Deaconess Hospital for a number of years as an LPN. Becky and Larry moved to San
Diego, CA after their children were grown where Larry was employed as Vice President with Natkin
Service Company. After residing there for 10 years, they returned to Oklahoma to prepare to retire.
The couple bought property near Hinton and have resided in the Hinton area for over 30 years. Becky
was a kind and loving woman who took great care of her family and any animal that she encountered.
She was also an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan!
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edith Greenhaw; her in-laws, Delmar and
Rachel Beatty; her husband, Larry Allen Beatty; one son, David Beatty; and 5 siblings, Herbert “H.T.”
Thomas Greenhaw, Juliene Green, Bessie Renegar, Berta Farley, and Rae Leta Newman.
She is survived by her children Larry Dale and Cheryl Beatty of Oklahoma City; Toni Sue and Mark
Pearson, Oklahoma City; Darren Beatty of the home in Hinton, 7 grandchildren, three of whom attended
Hinton Public Schools, Eric Pearson, Brittney (Pearson) Herrmann and Maisey Beatty; as well as 3 great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank those in the Hinton community for the great years they gave their
parents. Larry loved learning to farm and raise cattle and thoroughly enjoyed his hours at the coffee
shop. Becky loved the people, their kindness, the pace of Hinton life and all of her resident wildlife
critters! To the folks at the Traditions Hospice, Integris Clinic, the Hinton Pharmacy, the grocery store
and the co-op, your kindness and support helped Mom enjoy her last years and allowed her to remain in
her home after the passing of her husband. The entire Beatty family sincerely extends their thanks and
appreciation.
As Becky wished, there will be no service but she would love that any condolences be sent in the form of
a donation to your local animal shelter.
