Aurora Martinez (Martinez) Rodriquez Obituary
Aurora Martinez Rodriquez was born on January 29, 1937, in Yorktown, Texas, to Jesús and Hermenia (Martinez) Martinez. She passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Binger, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Aurora grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and later made Oklahoma her home. She married Marselo Rodriquez in Winters, Texas and the couple shared more than 40 years of marriage together. Aurora took great pride in her home and yard. She loved gardening and yard work and was known for keeping everything neat and clean. If there were branches, sticks, or clutter, she made sure it was taken care of right away. She had a soft heart for children and made sure every visiting child — whether a grandchild, niece, or nephew — left with candy or cookies in hand. Aurora also had a special love for animals. Though she often claimed not to like dogs at first, they always ended up becoming “her dog.” She was famously afraid of snakes and seemed to always find one outside. Her faith was important to her. Aurora faithfully read her Bible and her Mornings with Jesus devotionals every day, always making sure to read in order and never skip ahead. She was frugal by nature and often joked about saving electricity by sitting in the dark. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching wrestling, especially WWF and WWE, as well as boxing. Above all, Aurora loved her family. They were her whole world, and she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Aurora was a member of Spring Creek Baptist church in Gracemont, OK. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Aurora is survived by her children: Marselo Rodriquez and wife Kathy of Gracemont, Oklahoma; Jessie Rodriquez and wife Patty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Diana Rodriquez of Gracemont, Oklahoma; Isabel Garcia of McCloud, Oklahoma; David Rodriquez of Hinton, Oklahoma; Mike Rodriquez of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Tonya Depasquale and husband Jeff of Georgia; and Angie Orona of Hollis, Oklahoma. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, including her grandson Frank Garcia, whom she raised, of Mustang, Oklahoma; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Andrea Delarosa of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and Susie Garcia and husband Sidro of Eakly, Oklahoma; along with many other relatives and friends.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, Jesús and Hermenia Martinez; her husband, Marselo Rodriquez Sr.; her sister, Ramona Martinez; her granddaughters, Amanda Rodriquez, Cookie Rodriquez, and Victoria Garcia; and her daughters-in-law, Loretta Rodriquez and Windi Garcia.
Special thanks to the staff of Binger Nursing & Rehab as well as Russell Murray Hospice for their compassionate care.
