Arlene Higgins Obituary

Arlene Parker Higgins, 80, of Watonga, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 2nd, 2021 at 12:15am after a struggle with Leukemia while surrounded by her loving family. Arlene was born on October 16th, 1940 in Lincoln, AR to Oather and Essie Williamson Parker. The Parker family moved to Stilwell, OK where Arlene grew up and met Stewart Higgins, of Tremont, Maine. They wed in Tahlequah, OK, and had 6 children: Karin, Wesley, Mark, Scott, Travis and Erica.

Arlene spent most of her adult life raising children and working outside the home in retail sales. She retired from Dress Barn as store manager. She and Stewart moved to Watonga, OK to be near her family. In Watonga, she worked for The Watonga Republican newspaper and spent most of her time there as front desk manager. Arlene attended First Baptist Church of Watonga and loved her church family. She loved to bake and was often seen taking treats to her work, church and friends and always helped anyone whenever possible.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Higgins, her son, Mark Higgins, her parents Oather and Essie Parker, her brothers, Lacy and Anthony Parker, her sister, Loretta Rachwal, her nephews, Stephen Park and Charlie Parker, her niece, Nancy Bishop, and her grandson, Desmond Williams.

Arlene is survived by her children Karin and Tad Elliott, Wesley and Missy Higgins, Scott and Angie Higgins, Travis Higgins and Shannon Littrell, and Erica and Brian Lanning along with her sister, Yvonne Garcia and family and 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arlene was deeply loved, cherished and touched many hearts. She will be missed by everyone.
