Albert R. Sage Obituary

Albert Richard Sage was born on June 30, 1934, to Alex Robert and Exie Myrtle (Riddle) Sage in Verden, Oklahoma. He passed away at his home in Gracemont, Oklahoma, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the age of 90.  Albert attended country schools and later Gracemont Schools before growing up in Anadarko. On June 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Massey in Gracemont. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith.  Albert began his career baling hay and later worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma for 18 years. Afterward, he dedicated himself to farming and raising cattle, turning his passion for agriculture into a way of life. Music was another of Albert’s great joys; he played rhythm guitar with his friends at senior centers in Anadarko, Chickasha, Fort Cobb, and Cooperton, cherishing the camaraderie and memories made through music.  Albert was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Gracemont. He will be remembered for his love of family, his commitment to his community, and the joy he brought to others through his music and storytelling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Charlotte Sage, of the home in Gracemont; his daughters, Lanette Dugan and husband Ricky of Gracemont, and Alleta Young and husband Daren of Hinton; grandchildren, Tucker Young, Loran and Ty Whitley, Lisa and Carly Edelen, Kayla and Josh Melton, Jay and Christy Edelen, Shaylee and Jared Hale; great-grandchildren Livy,  Tee, Olli, Kinlie, Jax, Jace, Katie, Alyssa and Ady; siblings, Vicky Slemp, Eva Lee Barron, Vesta Harrison, and Patricia Boren; sisters-in-law Betty Sage, Kaye Sage, and Donna Reed; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Myrtle Sage; his in-laws, Lavis and Pinky Massey; his brother, Bob Sage; and brothers-in-law, Alton Sage and Carl Reed.

Albert’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to his family and community will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
