Roberta Imogene (Hiser) Barger

Roberta Imogene Barger was born December 28, 1926, in the Centerville Community located northeast of Binger, Oklahoma, to Ira Marvin (Neb) and Roxie Evelyn (Farr) Hiser. She died December 26, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 92. Imogene attended the Little One Room Centerville School through the 8th grade, the same school where her mother and siblings went to school. She went to high school in Binger and attended some college courses in El Reno and Weatherford. Imogene was saved as a teenager, baptized in Medicine Creek and belonged to the Lookeba United Methodist Church. Imogene married Floyd Milford Barger on June 6, 1942 at the home of Reverend J. E. Chatham west of Lookeba, Oklahoma. Imogene loved to sing, dance, and play the guitar.  She loved to paint and has recently written a few children’s books for her great grandchildren.  Imogene was a member of the Quest Club, Red Hat Club, and the Ladies’ Auxillary Club.  She was a true lady, perfect hostess, and was the caretaker of her family. She was her family’s foundation and rock.

Survivors include: Her children Floyd Anthony (Tony) Barger and wife Rhonda of Lookeba, Richard Dwayne Barger of Hinton, Linda Gayle Barger Wilson and husband Danny of Lookeba, and Kelly Jean Barger Smith and husband Stacy of Hinton, Grandchildren: Anthony Wayne Barger and wife Deanna, Donal Gene Barger and wife Babs, Brenda Lucille Barger Hall, Justin Dwayne Barger and wife Jean, Cristi Janeice Williams and husband Michael, Galyn Wade Wilson and wife Vivian, Jeff Wilson, Stasha Smith Aldrich, Colton Hunter Oglesby, Laken Rea Baker and husband Colton, Cody Smith and Tia N’Kole Smith, and 27 Great Grands, 7 Great-Great Grands, two sisters; Clara Irene FieldCamp of San Antonio, Texas and Alice Marie Holt of Bluffton, Indiana, and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Neb and Roxie Hiser, her husband Floyd Milford Barger, Grandson Payton Kole Oglesby, two brothers; Cecil and Vernon (Bun) Hiser, and one sister Vurel Scott, and stepmother Londerien Hiser.

The family has requested Memorial donations to Hinton Ministerial Alliance or the Charity of your choice.
