Gwendolyn D (Rade) Shilling

Gwendolyn D. Rade Shilling was born on June 14, 1934 in Southard, OK to her parents, Edith M. and William Rade.  She had four siblings, Darlene Rade Leech from Norman, Edwin Rade from El Reno, Mahlon Rade from Denver, CO., and Charlotte Rade Majors from Hinton, OK. She passed away, at the Medical Park West Rest Home in Norman on May 12, 2019 as a result of a long battle with cancer.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Rade, and her siblings, Darlene Leech and Edwin Rade.

Survivors Include: her siblings, Charlotte Majors of Hinton, OK, and Mahlon Rade of Denver, CO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Gwen went to Southard School in her younger years, and graduated from Geary High School in the 1950’s. She had many talents. She loved to do needlework, watercolor painting, and baking many delicious goodies for her family. Gwen worked for a local orthodontist in Norman. He trained her to bea dental nurse and a super lab technician. She married Vincent Shilling on September 4, 1966 and moved to Antlers, OK. When they returned to Norman, she worked as a lab technician in Oklahoma City. Gwen never had children of her own, but she was very special, and dearly loved by her nieces and nephews and many family members and friends. She will be sorely missed.
