Carolyn Seyler Obituary

Carolyn Jane (Maib) Seyler was born May 30, 1939 West of Geary, OK to Vernon and Verna Mae (Updergraph) Maib.  She passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Katharine Drexel Retirement Home in El Reno, OK at the age of 79.  She grew up in Geary and attended Richland and Geary Schools.  Kenneth went to work on the farm of Vernon Maib where he and Carolyn met.  On June 5, 1955 she married Kenneth A. Seyler, Jr.  the love of her life.  They started farming on rented land with a used tractor, a one way, and seven small Angus Cows.  In 1991 with the purchase of 150 bred Angus heifers, a dream was started and grew into Seyler Farms.  The rest is history with hundreds of bred heifers and yearling bulls being sold over a three-state area.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Geary and attended the Greenfield First Baptist Church. 

 

Carolyn is survived by her children, Sandy Roach and her husband Eugene of Greenfield, OK, and David Seyler of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kendra Grubbs and her husband David of Watonga, Kristin Tschida and her husband A.J. of Greenfield, Cody Seyler and his wife Kristyn of El Reno, Sean Kennedy of Oklahoma City, Dallas Larrimer of Weatherford, and Reese Seyler of Greenfield; great grandchildren, Austin and Tyson Moxley, Emery and Karson Tschida, Kasey Jane and Blakelee Seyler; siblings, Billy Maib and his wife Patty of Geary, Wesley Maib and his wife Michelle of Edmond, Mary Maib of Watonga; extended family Glen and Katie Roach and sons, Jacob, Sam , and Gabe of Claremore, Ruben and Jodi Munoz and children, Hailey, Ethan, Jaelyn, Graysen, and Slayde of Weatherford, Casi, Harley, and Deacon Grubbs of Okeene, Kodi Tschida of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, Crystal Seyler Gonzalez and son Josh, and many friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Seyler, Jr., daughter, Debra Larrimer, her parents, Vernon and Verna Mae Maib, and brother Larry Maib.
