C. Roy Findley Obituary

The Last Alarm sounded for C. Roy Findley, Friday, May 31, 2019, when his Heavenly Father called him home at the age of 83.

 

C. Roy Findley, Sr. was born on August 4, 1935 in Hinton, OK to George W. and Nancy Louisa (Rich) Findley. He attended Hinton Schools. He was united in marriage to Judy Ann Morgan on June 26, 1964. They lived in the Hinton area. C. Roy worked as a kid at the skating rink and at the grocery store. He worked for 26 years as a painter for Howard Motor Company, 35 years at the Hinton Fair, served 9 years as Assistant Chief and 11 years as Fire Chief, worked at the Hinton Sheriff Department as Auxiliary Officer and Hinton Ambulance for several years. He mowed the fair grounds for 18 years, sprayed Main/Broadway for 15 years. He worked 3 years as Dog Catcher for Town of Hinton, and C. Roy was the best damn dog catcher Hinton ever had.  He served for 10 years as President for Hinton Arts & Crafts Show, owned and operated Findley Detail and Paint for 20 years, mowed yards for 25-30 years and worked at Turner Funeral Home for many years. C. Roy was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Road Angels Car Club, Hinton Rod & Gun Club.

 

 

Survivors include: four children, Janet Davidson & husband Chuck, Roy Findley Jr., Stephanie Funck & husband, Jeff, all of Hinton, OK, and Diane Clark of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Dillon Davidson, Sawyer & wife Elizabeth Davidson of Oklahoma City, Shayla Davidson of Hinton, Chelsea Wiles & husband Napolean of Hinton, Micalah Findley & fiancé’ Trevor Thompson of Oklahoma City, Dalton and Daniel Funck of Hinton, OK, Joshua Schmidt of Lakeland, Florida, Ryan Clark of Slidell, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Joshua Jr., and Jacob Schmidt, Harper Claire, Lily, Justyce,  and Xavier Wiles, Lincoln Thompson, sisters in law, Marty Findley and Rita Findley of Hinton, OK, and Dixie Findley of Pauls Valley, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lula Findley, stepfather, A. B. Carter, wife, Judy Findley, siblings, “Red” Findley, Wayne Findley, Archie Findley, Kenneth Findley, Imogene Kessler, Vivian Wilson, Ted Findley, and Larry Findley.  

 

The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to the Binger Nursing Home Staff and Nurses, and to Russell Murray Hospice of Weatherford for the care of C. Roy Findley.
