Billy Stephenson Obituary

Billy Dean Stephenson was born January 10, 1946 at the family home in Lookeba, OK to Fred and Ethel Rose (Philey) Stephenson. He passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 72. Billy attended school at Lookeba in his early years. His family relocated to Binger and Billy graduated from Binger High School. Billy and a good friend enjoyed braking small horses as a teenager. He was a talented artist and worked on many art projects for the school. Billy worked at Rosser's Filling Station for a number of years during and after high school. He served in the National Guard for over 7 years and was a E6 Staff Sergeant when he was discharged. Billy married Cheryl Lynn Bleakley on January 9, 1973 in Hinton, OK. He owned and operated Stephenson Machine Shop in Hinton for a number of years. He loved building show and drag cars. He built a show car that won the Darryl Starbird Car Show. He worked for the state for 18 years, of which he retired in 2008. He loved to do work of all kinds. He was a jack of all trades, but the job title he took the most pride in was, Papa.

Survivors include, wife, Cheryl of the home in Binger, OK, 2 children, Cameron Stephenson and his wife Ginnie of Binger, OK and Lynnisa Catlin of Oklahoma City, OK, 3 grandchildren, Tinzley Stephenson(7), Logan Catlin(15), and Dillon "Jax" Catlin(9), 3 sisters, Eva Gardner of Binger, OK, Lillie Peach of Hinton, OK, and Jessie Poos and husband Steve of Choctaw, OK, sister-in-law, Melva Stephenson Whitfield of Binger, OK, 2 brothers, Walter Stephenson and wife Dixie of Hinton, OK, and Andrew Stephenson and wife Bea of MWC, OK along with a host of other family and friends.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ethel Stephenson, 6 sisters, Norma Raylene Barrow, Rose Lee Delmar, Beatrice Murphy, Alice Graham, Katherine DuBois, and Richard "Richie" Timmer and 2 brothers, Franklin Stephenson and Robert J. Stephenson.
